Yourself!Fitness (yes, the exclamation mark is part of the title) is the next generation workout video. Unlike a typical video, this one actually tests your abilities, customizes the workouts for your needs (or goals) and tracks your progress. There are two options: workout and meditation. Workout is exercising that helps you focus on your goals, whereas meditation is yoga poses. Your personal trainer and nutritionist, Maya, is easy on the eyes (yes, she’s a babe), but she pushes you and makes it hurt (I didn’t realize I had muscles there!).
I’ve only used it twice, but I feel like its really worked me. I’ve found myself pushing myself to keep up, and I’ve ended up in a sweat by the end of the workout. I’m not very flexible, so the yoga is still tough for me. I haven’t started using the meal planner yet, but I’ve read that it’s pretty good, and you can determine how many calories you want to consume everyday.
My only gripe, though, is that I can’t listen to my own music. I’m not a big fan of most of the music on it, but I can at least turn it down and listen to a music CD instead.
As I progress in my fitness goal, I’ll write about how well I’m doing, including whether or not I’ve kept up (Maya keeps track of that as well).
